The Correlation vs. Causation Checker

Help me judge whether this relationship is causal or just correlated.

1. The plausible causal stories (X causes Y, Y causes X, both from Z,
   coincidence)
2. The confounding variables that could explain it
3. What evidence would strengthen a causal claim
4. Whether an experiment is possible to settle it, and how
5. How much to trust the relationship for decision-making right now

Stop me from acting on a correlation as if it were causation — but also
tell me when the correlation is actionable enough anyway.
