1. Has a subject line they'll actually open (not "Quick
   question" or "Networking request")
2. Opens with a genuine, specific compliment or reference
   to their work
3. Establishes credibility briefly (who I am in 1 sentence)
4. Makes a specific, small ask (not "Can I pick your brain?")
5. Makes it easy to say yes (suggest a specific time/format)
6. Is under 150 words (respect their time)
7. Sounds human, not templated
